Piraeus, the port of Athens, is occupying a peninsula 10 kilometers southwest of central Athens.
Piraeus is the hub of the Greek ferry network. Frequent ship departures take travelers to the Greek islands. All ferries depart from the main harbor.
On the north side of Piraeus is the main harbor – one of the largest in the Mediterranean – serving cargo and passenger ships from around the world, while the south side with two smaller harbors serves as the entertainment district. The Zea harbor is occupied by a yacht marina and has many restaurants and cafes as well as two beaches a short walk away. Adjacent to Zea lies the fishing port Mikrolimano, which is the smallest and most picturesque of Piraeus’ three harbors. It is dotted with traditional seafood eateries and stylish restaurants.
There are two museums in Piraeus. The Nautical Museum at the Zea Harbor and the Archeological Museum. Other points of interest are the Agia Triada Cathedral on Dimokratias Street and the Municipal Theatre on Korai Square built in 1885.

Contemporary and at the same time picturesque, Piraeus never ceases to amaze with all the options has to offer when it comes to entertainment.
Starting from Mikrolimano, the small harbor with the cosmopolitan atmosphere, where you feel like you are on an island, you can find from traditional fish taverns to gourmet restaurants and cocktail bars.
